In Japan, calling China as Shina is considered discriminationary.
But I wonder if it's really a derogatory term.
The word Shina came from the Qin dynasty.
An English word China is from that.
Also, it's not regarded as offensive nor prohibited to call South China Sea as Minami(South)-Shina-Kai(Sea).
If it's really a taboo to call China as Shina it should be written in the map Minami-Chukajinminkyouwakoku(中華人民共和国)-Kai.
